We will be married in a clearing near the house where Jess grew up.

Getting There

Deerfield, Massachusetts is about 3½ hours from New York City.  There are regular Peter Pan buses to Northampton and a Megabus to Amherst, both about a 20-minute drive away.

There is also Amtrak service to Greenfield, which is 15 minutes away. If you are flying, the nearest airport is Bradley International and is about an hour's drive.

Our advice?  Carpool!

Attire

We're going to dress up for this thing and hope you will, too.  But we have a more practical concern: Ladies, it's your shoes.

The wedding ceremony will involve a walk through a meadow and along a wooded path.  Please consider this infographic when choosing your footwear:

What must be the steepest road within 200 miles leads up to a Frank Lloyd Wright-esque folly at the peak.  The view, shown above, is worth the wear and tear on the way into or out of town.  Related links:

Another recommended driveby.  If you've never visited this area on a field trip or as a competing secondary school athlete, you oughta.  The wood paneling of these places is wider than most any you get to see, and one house (seen at the 2:00 mark in the video) is such a preposterous turquoise that it's hard to believe it's historically accurate.

Given, this place is quite terrible.  It's enormous and smells like scented candles.

BUT, if you go to the back, you can dip your own.  What fun!  Check out Trev in 2011, filmed by his mom!  Believe it: this dude had no girlfriend!
